Obituary of Ronald Howe

Ronald Joseph Howe was born on August 16, 1935 in Saint John to William and Myrtle (Dobson) Howe. After spending a short time in the Army and the Merchant Navy, Ron met Louise when she went to work for his sister. She thought he was quite thin and thought she could fatten him up with her wonderful cooking. After getting married and starting his new life, Ron worked as a truck driver for the Sussex Poultry (Canada Packers). He enjoyed driving truck and was very proud of the fact that this passion was passed on to his sons.Taking care of his family was first and foremost. He and Louise also took care of many other children over the years. Anyone in need knew that Ron and Louise would help them if they could. Ron was very community minded and always willing to help out if needed. He was a former member of the Lions Club as well as a former member of the Norton Legion. Over the years Ron had many health issues but he never complained. He fought very hard to remain independent and enjoyed spending time on the computer playing games and loved watching the birds, especially Petrow the crow. Ron had a great sense of humor and he loved to tease. He also had quite a collection of home remedies. No matter what the problem, a cough or a sore throat, Ron had a home remedy that would take care of it. Ron was proud of his family and would talk for hours about his children. He talked about the grandchildren and great grandchildren with the same pride. He loved to tell stories about his life growing up or his life with Louise. They were together for most of their lives, taking care of each other, which is exactly how they wanted it to be. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Louise (Almon); four daughters: Lois Davis and her husband Richard of Norton, Barbara Howe and Larry Gregg of Knightville, Shirley Dibblee and her husband Leigh of Apohaqui and Tammy Kelly and her husband Paul of Sussex;three sons: Brian of Knightville, Bill and his wife Patty of Smith Creek and John and Carol Shields of Coles Island; two brothers: Fred and his wife Margaret and Wayne and his wife Dottie all of Ontario; four sisters: Winnifred Rogers of Saint John, Dorothy Buschnel and her husband Bill of Sussex, Sandra Gomer of Grand Bay and Jean Le Breton of Saint John; Grandchildren: Neil Dibblee (Kara), Sarah Dunfield (Rod), Lori Price (Bliss), Jason McCleary (Amy), Stefanie Clain (Danny), Stacey Howe, Shana Howe (Ryan), Jeffrey Howe(Rhonda), Josh Howe (Samantha), Justin Howe, Jerry Howe, Joseph Howe (Lily), Christopher and Matthew Howe, Chantelle Roy (Shane) and Ashley Bennett, Sean and Allie Kelly; great grandchildren; Isaac, Samuel, Brianna, Shelby, Rhayelyn, Landin, Jorja, Jewel, Katie, Braxton, Julia, Alexa, Hunter, Bently, Colby, Connor, Kale, Corey, Becky and Tyson as well as his beloved pets, Ringo and Felix.
