Mrs. Stella Leona Coates of Four Corners, NB, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on August 31, 2006 at the age of 79. Born in Coal Creek, NB on March 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (McLean) McLean and the beloved wife of the late Stanley N. Coates who passed away in 1999. Stella is survived by her daughter, Connie Crabbe and her husband Carvel of Saint John; her son, Harry and his wife Brenda of Plumweseep; her sisters: Vivian McCullum of Rothwell, Georgie Miller and her husband Joe of Chipman, Bertha Jenkins and her husband Carl of Coal Creek, June Dudley and her husband Glendon of Fredericton, Effie Madore and her husband Frank of Minto, Muriel Stewart and her husband Jack of Lincoln, Maine; her brothers: Calvin McLean and his wife Ida of Minto, Charlie McLean and his wife Viola of Coal Creek, Lloyd McLean and his wife Eva of London, Ontario; her granddaughter, Kelly-Ann; two grandsons: Harry and his wife Crystal and Michael, many foster children, especially Fred and John Coates; as well as several nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by her sister, Ida Long and her brothers: Harold, Weldon and Havelock. Stella loved to knit, quilt and especially loved to read her Bible. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held at Wallace Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Monday, September 4, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Philip Dallimore officiating. The interment will take place at Gosline Cemetery.
