Obituary of Fr. Raymond James Mullaly

 

Father Raymond James J. Mullaly was born in Norton, he was the son of the late James T. Mullaly and Margaret t. (Keohan).

 

Father Mullaly graduated from Norton High School in 1947, continuing his education at the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton where he received his teacher’s license. He taught in New Brunswick schools for a number of years.

 

He later attended St. Josephs University in Moncton, and was then with the Dominican Order for a short time. He also attended Holy Heart Seminary in Halifax and was Ordained on June 5, 1960 at Sacred Heart in Norton.

 

He was Parish Priest at many churches through out New Brunswick. He later studied Canon Law in Ottawa to become a judge for the marriage tribunal and acted as a judge until he became ill.

 

Father Mullaly is survived by his sisters, Roberta Cosman and her husband Kemys of Norton, Betty Mullaly of Halifax, NS; his sister-in-law, Lois Mullaly of Richmond, BC, as well as several nieces,  nephews and cousins.

 

Father Raymond James J. Mullaly of Norton, passed away on July 03, 2006 at the age of 76.

 

Father Mullaly was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Mullaly and by five sisters, Eileen Bagley, Helene Mullaly, Carmel Mullaly, Carol Mullaly and Grace Kelly.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 .  

A service celebrating Father Mullaly’s life will be held from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, July 06, 2006 at  2:00 pm.
