Obituary of Gail Briggs
Mrs. Gail Patricia Briggs of 1025 Carsonville Rd. Carsonville, NB passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on July 2, 2006 at the age of 69.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on July 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Harry" and Charlotte (Owen) Toogood.
Gail was a wife and mother who always put her family and friends before herself, she was a member of the Carsonville Head of Millstream United Church, where she was a member of the UCW for many years. She was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 20, where she devoted countless volunteer hours. She loved flowers and enjoyed traveling, especially to Ontario and out West. Gail was a collector, and enjoyed collecting old dolls, coins, elephants and thimbles.
Gail is survived by her beloved husband Doug, three daughters; Sharon Pretty and her husband Rolly of Calmar, Alberta; Patricia Williams and her husband Cedric of Sussex Corner and Charlene Parlee and her husband Philip of Dutch Valley, two sons; David and his wife Lori of McGregor Brook and Michael and his wife Jennie of Elliotvale, PEI, four brothers; Harold and his wife Sandra, Donald and his wife Pam, Lorne and his wife Sue, Gary and his daughter Charlotte and her sister; Diane Gettel all of Ontario, 11 grandchildren; Arlynn, Morgan, Dylan, Jason, Jennifer, Scott, Rachel, Jarrod, Ashlyn, Matthew and Todd, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gail is predeceased by her son; Dougie who passed away in 1975, by her mother and father-in-law; Dorothy (Parlee) and Arthur Briggs and by her brother-in-law Frank.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 will hold a tribute Wednesday evening at 6:45.
The Funeral Service will be from Carsonville Head of Millstream United Church on Thursday, July 6th , 2006 at 11:00 am, followed by the interment at Carsonville Cemetery.
There will be a time of fellowship with the family at the Berwick Recreation Centre following the Committal Service. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Carsonville Cemetery or to the memorial of the donor
