Obituary of Jennie Buchanan

Mrs. Jennie Mae Buchanan of Sussex Corner, NB passed away on June 6, 2006 at the Sussex Health Centre at the age of 94. Born in Millbrook NB on August 13, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie (Orr) Proctor. Jennie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ralph who passed away in 1982. Jennie is survived by her daughter Lois Flannery and her husband Frank of Riverview, her sons, Joe and his wife Connie of Kitchener, Ontario and Paul and his wife Ella of Alliston, Ontario, six grandchildren: Michael Flannery and his wife Trudy, Erin Flannery, Richard Buchanan and his wife Dianne, Carol Layton and her husband David, Nathan and Laura Buchanan, she also had nine great grandchildren, Michael, Shawn, Brittney, Kiah, Tim, Beth, Erin, Amber and Mark, she was very proud of every one of them. She leaves one sister, Dorothy Doncaster of Sussex Corner who she was a big part of her life. There are also cousins, nephews and nieces who will miss her. Jennie was predeceased by her grandson, Michael Buchanan, three sisters, Alice Geldart, Effie Friars and Irene Friars and by her five brothers, Willie, Joe, Bert, Artie and Herb. Jennie spent her whole life in the Sussex area. She was a member of the Sussex Trinity Anglican Church, was in the Choir, AWC and alter guild. She was past president of the Sussex Curling Club where she really enjoyed the game of curling. She also participated in Line Dancing and Clogging. Her summers were spent at her cottage at Pointe du Chene where she enjoyed the company of family and friends and was always ready for a game of cards. Her last few years were blessed in that she had wonderful caregivers who enabled her to live in her home. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held at Wallace Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Then there will be a time of fellowship with the family after their return from the private family interment. As an expression of sympathy donations made to Trinity Anglican Church or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
