Obituary of Gerald Gray
Rev. Gerald Gray of 857 Main Street, Sussex, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on April 4, 2006 at the age of 82. Born in Cropton, England on December 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Isaac and Helen (Wurr) Gray. Gerald is survived by his wife Elsie (Thorne), his daughter Christina Crandall (Wayne) of Salisbury, his step-daughters, Linda Thornton of Fredericton; Angela Caissie (Donald) of St Anne de Kent, his step-son, Richard Sprague (Georgette) of Cornhill, his brother, Rev. David Gray of Kingston Peninsula, his sister-in-law Muriel Gray of Amherst, two grandsons; Jonathan and Jordon, two great grandsons; Joel and Collan, nine step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Eileen (Lisson) who passed away in 1991 and also by his sister, Marion and his brother, Peter. Gerald served overseas in England during WWII, with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a hardware manager with Canadian Tire for many years. Later in life Gerald became an Anglican Minister. He was a member of Harmony Lodge # 20 F & AM, Knights of Pythias Queens Lodge #63 and the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), visitation will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, on Thursday afternoon from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Harmony Lodge # 20 F&AM will hold a Masonic tribute at this evening at 6:30 followed by a tribute by the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 at 6:45. The Funeral Service will be from Trinity Anglican Church on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury. Donations made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Sussex Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.
