Obituary of John Hynes
Mr. John Philip Hynes of Plumweseep, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on December 21, 2005 at the age of 90. Born in Penobsquis, NB on October 2, 1915, he was the son of the late Philip L. and Elizabeth (O'Leary) Hynes and the husband of Marie (Gallant) Hynes. Besides his wife, John is survived by three daughters; Mary Ellen Sear and her husband Rick of Picadilly, Chris Andrew and her husband Jim of Sussex, Frances Sear of Sussex, eight sons; Hugh of Saint John, Edward and Michael of Penobsquis, James of Calgary, Robert of Toronto, Peter of Calgary, Timothy of Antigonish, NS and Paul and his wife Karen of Roachville, one sister; Mary Cotter of New Line, 15 grandchildren; Teresa, Robert, Catherine, Jodi, Paula, Meghan, Philip, Pam, Krista, Michael, Sarah, Nicole, Chad, Mitchell and Dana, seven great grandchildren; Taylor, Reilly, Jake, Dennis, Sam, Sophie and Eric, as well as several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his first wife, Teresa (Gillen) Hynes and sons; Philip and Patrick, one sister Teresa (Tedda) Fennell and nephew Jack Cotter. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier RC Church on Thursday evening from 7-9 and Friday 2-4, 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at 11:00 am, with Father Arnie Hachey officiating. There will be time of fellowship with the family in the Church Hall following the Mass. The interment will take place at Wards Creek Cemetery in the spring.
