Obituary of David Doherty
David A. Doherty of 224 Creek Road, Mt. Middleton, NB, passed away at his residence on November 24, 2005 at the age of 61. Born in Saint John, NB on January 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. and Phyllis L. (Lisson) Doherty. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Steeves) Doherty, three children, Daniel and Amanda of Edmonton, Dennis and Catherine of Coles Island, Rebecca (Becky) Scott and her husband Darren of Wards Creek, his sister, Catherine Moore of Sussex, three grandchildren: Matthew, Abby and Emily, as well as his niece, Kim of British Columbia and his nephew, Greg of Fredericton, his aunt and several cousins. As a youth, Dave was very active in sports, especially hockey and even had been noticed by a Scout for the Boston Bruins. Unfortunately, he had to give up sports due to illness. Dave replaced his talent in sports with his mechanical abilities which included heavy equipment, farm machinery, auto and electrical. If it was fixable Dave could fix it. As his love for mechanics faded, his love for gardening and woodworking grew. As happy as he was in his gardens and workshop, he was happier still when he was able to share his woodworking with family and friends. Children always loved his big gentleman, his own as well as others. Very seldom was he without one or more traveling with him, whether it was going for parts, to fix a tractor, to the rink or just to
