Obituary of Hazel Parlee
Mrs. Hazel Mildred Parlee of Royal Court, Riverview formerly of Gordon St. Sussex, NB passed away at Moncton Hospital, on June 6, 2005. Hazel was born in Sussex NB on January 31, 1908. She was the daughter of the late James M. and Eliza (Dalling) Leake, and the beloved wife of the late H. Lorne Parlee who passed away in 1977. Hazel is survived by her daughter Lorna Parlee and Sid Robinson of Moncton as well as nieces, nephews cousins and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Leake and Jane Coy, and by her brother Fred Leake. Hazel graduated from Sussex High School in 1925 and continued her education at Mount Allison University where she took a one-year business course. After graduation she worked in Saint John and married Lorne in1934. During the 1970s, Hazel worked in the Metropolitan Store in Sussex. She was an avid animal lover, an honorary member and regent of the Royal Chapter of the I.O.D.E and the Chi Rho club. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church. She loved to play bridge and was involved with many bridge clubs in Sussex. Hazel resided in Sussex on Gordon Street until 2001, when she moved to Royal Court in Riverview. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Thursday 2:00 ? 4:00 and 7:00 ? 9:00 pm and there will be visitation with the family at the home of Lorna Parlee, 57 Colburne Street, Moncton, on Friday evening from 7:00 pm -9:00 pm The Funeral Service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Friday, June 10, 2005 at 1:00 pm. with the interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship with the family in the Kirkland Hall, Anglican Church Homes following the committal service. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, S.P.C.A., or to the memorial of the doners choice would be appreciated by the family.
