Mr. Ivol Carroll Nelson of 746 Rt. #710 Cody's, New Brunswick, passed away at Great Oaks Special Care Home on May 24, 2005 at the age of 90. Born in Clinton, Maine, on January 18, 1915, he was the son of the late Carroll and Annie (Anderson) Nelson. Ivol is survived by Ruby (White) his beloved wife of 31 years, his daughter, Lynda Nelson and of Arizona, a son, Richard Nelson and his wife Jean of Loudon, NH, a step-son, Lorne Perry and his wife Delores of Sussex, 2 brothers, Carroll Nelson of Alton, NH, Edward Nelson, of Rochester, NH, his sister, Alice Tuttle of Eliott, Maine, his sisters-in-law Mary Pike and her husband Irwin of Carmel Maine, Betty Hinton and her husband Ben of St. Stephen, Ida White of Cambridge Narrows, his brothers-in-law Robert 'Bob' Love and his wife Edna of Quispamsis, Harry White of Great Oaks Special Care Home and Otty White of Cambridge Narrows, 2 grandsons; Eric Wolff of Pennsylvania and Christian Brunquist of Alaska, 4 step-grandchildren, Valerie and Steven Perry, Jimmy and Victor Deveau, 2 special nieces, Joan Tubbs of Rolling Dam and Jane Ames of St. Stephen, 2 granddaughters; Tammy Cobb and her husband Mark of Manchester NH, Kristi Nelson of College Station, Texas Ivol was predeceased by his first wife Florence (Love) Nelson who passed away August 1, 1971 and by 2 brothers, Morris and Lloyd, a sister Velma McKinney and a step-son, Kevin Perry who passed away in 1986. Ivol was a veteran of WWII serving in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He retired from Portsmouth Navel Ship Yard after 31 years. He was a member of Cody's United Baptist Church, having served as deacon, trustee and choir member. Ivol was also a member of Gloria Dei Singers and had a love of working with wood, creating many pieces of furniture and most recently the art of fiddle making. His other interests were stamp collecting, cars and building and flying model airplanes. He went on to train and received his private pilot license. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 will hold a tribute Saturday evening at 6:45 pm. The Funeral Service will be from Cody's United Baptist Church on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at 12:00 pm. With the interment at Cody's Cemetery.
