Obituary of Lottie Wiggins

Lottie Wiggins was born in Waterford, NB on May 24, 1914; she was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Patterson) Buchanan and the beloved wife of the late Forrest Wiggins who passed away August 5th 2005. After her fathers death the family moved to Whites Cove where she met Forrest Wiggins at a dance. Shortly there after, they were wed and they moved in with his parents. Lottie looked after them for many years. Forrest and Lottie had seven children and they had a wonderful life. Her door was always open and nobody left without something to eat. She cooked a Sunday meal every week and more the merrier. Lottie was a grandmother to the neighborhood and a loving and doting wife, mother and grandmother. Lottie will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Frances Williams and her husband Myles of Fredericton and Carol Williams and her husband Gary of Saint John; four sons: George of Saint John, Arthur and his wife Marilyn and Elmer all of Pickets Cove and Gerald and his wife Jane of Quispamsis; her daughter-in-law Greta Wiggins of Saint John, 12 grandchildren: Malcolm Wiggins and his wife Maria of Kingston Peninsula, Mark Wiggins and his wife Shara of Quispamsis, Lorrie Smith and her husband Scott of Rothesay, Keith Wiggins and Heather of East Saint John, Barb Nicholson and her husband Dan of Fredericton, Ken Williams of Toronto, Dale Wiggins and his wife Tara of Hampton, Greg Wiggins and his wife Kena of Lower Sackville, NS, Dwane Williams and his wife Lynn of Calgary, Brian Williams and his wife Cathy of Oromocto, Andrew Wiggins and his wife Diana of Ottawa and Michael Wiggins and Angela of Kingston Peninsula; 26 great grandchildren; Jodi, Casey, Lisa, Amanda, Benjamin, Luke, Kaylee, Jonathan, Eric, Carson, Colby, Jennifer, Gregory, Katie, Dawson, Miranda, Cleona, Owen, Ryan Madison, Katrinia, Gage, Robyn, Emma, Madison and Jesse; one great great grandson Dustin, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lottie was the last surviving member of her immediate family, she is predeceased by her son; Donald, her daughter-in-law; Bella Wiggins, five brothers: Bev, Murray, Mel, Elmer and Ronnie and by her sister Georgie Donaldson. Mrs. Lottie Gwendolyn Wiggins of Youngs Cove passed away at the Mill Cove Nursing Home on December 27, 2011 at the age of 97. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00-3:00 and 6:00-8:00pm. A Celebration of Lottie's life will be held from St. Lukes Anglican Church, Youngs Cove on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 am. The interment will be in the Church cemetery followed by a time of fellowship at the Coles Island Lions Den. Donations made to St. Lukes would be appreciated by the family.
