Obituary of Everett McGarity

Mr. Everett Vaughan McGarity of Whites Cove passed away on December 26, 2011 at the age of 85. Born in Bagdad on February 12, 1926, he was the son of the late George McGarity and Johanna (Patterson). Everett is survived by his wife Phyllis McGarity, four daughters: Irene Lewis and her husband Gordon of Coles Island, Linda Wagstaff and her husband John of Whites Cove, Doris Garland and her husband Terry of Baxter Corner, Georgetta Goddard and her husband Peter of Millstreaam; his son, Fred and his wife Betty of Whites Cove, his special brother-in-law, Murray Pickett and his wife Phyllis of Cambridge Narrows; Twelve grandchildren: Gordonna Hache and her husband Clarence of Sussex, Tom Lewis and his wife Joanne of Sussex, Bill Wagstaff and his wife Carrie of Jemseg, Tammy Allaby and her husband Scott of Quispamsis, Angie Tracey of Wickham, Samantha Carr and her husband Corey of Riverview, Raymond Goddard and his wife Gina of Sussex, Wesley Goddard and his wife Teri Lynn, and Charles Goddard all of Millstream, Everett McGarity and his wife Lori, Peter McGarity and his wife Stephanie all of Cambridge Narrows, Ryan McGarity and his wife Meghan of Whites Cove; twenty great grandchildren: Jessica, Sophia, Eli, JJ, Calvin, Meadow, Meagan, Cameron, Shyanne, Jersey, Peyton, Katie Mae, Alex, Tegan, Brianna, Harvey, Abbey, Hannah, Rieley and Hayden, as well as several nieces and nephews. Everett was predeceased by his half-brother, Ernest Patterson who passed away in 1972. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 1-3 and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Everett's life will be held from Church of the Good Shepherd Anglican Church on December 29, 2011at 2:00pm. There will be a time of fellowship with the family in the Cambridge Narrows Municipal Building immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
