Obituary of Helen Cosman
Mrs. Helen Pearl Cosman of Sussex died at the Sussex Health Centre on February 19, 2005 at the age of 88. Born September 21, 1916 in Carsonville, NB, Helen was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bertha (Cook) Riedle and the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Cosman who died in 2001. Helen is survived by 2 daughters; Bertha Cosman of Sussex and Anna Goddard and her husband Frank of Fredericton, 4 sons; Douglas and his wife Louise of Apohaqui, Walter and his wife Jeanette of Sussex, Earl and his wife Sylvia of Riverview and Stephen and his wife Shirley of St. Thomas, Ontario. She is also survived by her brother, Burton Riedle and his wife Elizabeth of Carsonville, her sister, Ethyl Long of Norton, 14 Grandchildren; Vaughn Cosman, Mary Cormier and her husband Dan, Gail Cosman, Valerie Austin and her husband David, Lynn Wallace and her husband Bill, Raymond Joyce and Jody Baird, Andrew Cosman and his wife Carol, Shelley Santerre and her husband Paul, Jo-Ann Briscoe and her husband Jess, Debby Cosman and her husband George, Steven Goddard and his wife Heather, Dawn Goddard and her husband Donald Spencer, Paul Fay-Cosman and his wife Charlene, and Sonya Kanerva and her husband Trevor, 18 Great Grandchildren; Nathan and Tessa Cosman, Mark and Sarah Cormier, William Austin, Samuel and Emma Wallace, Leisha, Lillian and Jonathan Joyce, Rory and Tara O'Connell, Kelsey and Thomas Santerre, Behn and Bekky Briscoe, Sophie Goddard and Michael Spencer, as well as several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Robinson who died in 2003. She was a member of the Carsonville Head of Millstream United Church and a life member of the Carsonville Head of Millstream United Church UCW. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be on Monday from 3-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 2:00 pm followed by the committal service at Union Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship with the family at St. Paul's United Church following the interment.
