Obituary of Shirley Patterson
Mrs. Shirley Addeline Patterson of Plumweseep Rd. Plumweseep, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on February 10, 2005 at the age of 74. Shirley was born in Mt. Pisgah, NB on April 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Catherine (Almon) Gregg . Shirley was predeceased by her first husband Murray Baskin in who passed away in 1973 and by her second husband Allan Patterson who passed away in 2003. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Eva Douthwright and her husband Richard of Ontario, Jean Baskin and Tony Pasqualetto of Sussex, Shirley Mercer and Leland Beach of Sussex, 7 sons; Curtis Baskin of Plumweseep, Harvey Baskin and his wife Linda of Plumweseep, Dayle Baskin of Plumweseep, Charles Baskin and his wife Cathy of Plumweseep, Harold Baskin and his wife Sheena of Smith Creek, Christopher Baskin and his wife Christine of Plumweseep, David and his wife Joy of Springfield, 7 brothers; Lloyd and his wife Dorothy of Montreal, Arthur and his wife Linda of Jordan Mountain, Arnold and his wife Marlene of White's Mountain, Myles and his wife Kathy of Hamilton, Ont., Sterling and his wife Cindy of Plumweseep, Doug of Toronto, Arden and his wife Evelyn of Jordan Mountain, 5 sisters; Mabel Wortman of Sussex, Elsie Dyer of Smith Creek, Freda Smith of Penobsquis, Pauline Bradbury of Sussex, Phyllis Lewis of Woodstock, 22 grandchildren, Tom, Tammy, Corey, Yvonne, Mark, Curtis, Colton, Maurice, Ashley, Sabrina, Andrew, Andrea, Jonathan, Sylvia, Rachel, Bobby, Crystal, Dougie, Rebecca, Joshua, Darcy, Megan, 14 great-grandchildren: Justin, Taylor, Kyle, Greg, Frankie Jr., Marshall, Justine, Mitchell, Jillian, Tristan, Ty, Madison, Tashia, Dillon as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Shirley was predeceased by her grandson, Nicholas, 4 brothers; Melbourne, Medley, Harry and Milton, and by 3 sisters Georgia, Vivian, Lois. Shirley was a former employee of Barbour Foods where she worked in the Tea Room. Later, she co-owned and operated Al's Taxi with her second husband Allan Patterson. Shirley enjoyed knitting and loved her animals. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). The Funeral Service is from Penobsquis United Baptist on Saturday, February 12, 2005, at 10:00 am with Pastor Gordon McKenzie officiating. Interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery in the spring.
