Obituary of Beatrice Ernst
Mrs. Beatrice 'Bea' Ernst of The Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, N.B. passed away at her residence on November 10, 2004, at the age of 96. Born in Saint John N.B. on September 29, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ella (Joynes) Small and the beloved wife of the late Dutchie Ernst who passed away in 1979. Bea is survived by 2 nieces Bertha West of Woodstock and Mary L. Townshend of Ottawa, as well as great nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by her sister Joy Seely who passed away in 1984 and by her nephew Creighton Seeley who passed away in 2003. Bea was a retired telephone operator from NBTel after 41 years. She worked in Sussex for many years. Bea and her husband Derrell, 'Dutchie' as he was fondly known owned and operated 'Dutchies Barber Shop for many years on Broad Street. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Pythian sisters. Bea loved to play bridge, she was famous for her delicious home cooking and shared it with many friends and neighbors. Everyone who knew Bea admired her for quiet and loving personality to all especially to animals. She had many of her own over the years. Bea will be greatly missed by her many close friends who loved her dearly. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Friday 2-4,7-9pm . The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery.
