Obituary of Ivy-Rose Smith
Ms. Ivy-Rose Smith, of Picadilly, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on September 26, 2004 at the age of 39 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Sussex, NB on November 15, 1964, Ivy was the daughter of Zona (Norrad) and the late Lloyd Edmund Smith who passed away in 1991. Ivy is survived by her mother, 2 sisters, Darlene Doyle and Lisa Smith both of Picadilly, her brother, Jeff and his wife Dawn of Berwick, her niece, Alex Doyle, 3 nephews, Barrett Doyle, Connor and Drew Smith, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Ivy was predeceased by a sister, Wanda who passed away in 1961, her paternal grandparents, William and Grace Smith and maternal grandparents, Allwyn and Sybil Norrad. After graduation Ivy moved to Ontario, where she worked for a large pharmacy. She returned home to Sussex, to help when her father took sick. Ivy then stayed to nurse her mother when she fell ill only a short time later. Ivy worked as a cashier for the Co-op Grocery in Sussex, where she enjoyed meeting many nice people. Ivy was forced to leave when she became ill. Ivy was known by everyone for her quick wit and smile and will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 2:00 pm. with Rev. Philip Dallimore officiating. A private family interment will take place at Lester Cemetery. When you hear the name Ivy, there are so many things that come to mind. She was so many people wrapped up into one, a wonderful, patient and thoughtful daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother, cousin, niece and Best friend. She was a party organizer, a Tax adjuster, and DJ Extraordinaire. She was comical, witty and always laughing whether it was good or bad she seemed to find humor in something.
