Obituary of Jennie Bell
Peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre in her 92nd year, surrounded by her family Jennie was born in Butternut Ridge (Havelock) December 7, 1912. Jennie was the daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Geldart) Henry and the beloved wife of 35 years to the late Gordon Bell who passed away in 1976. Jennie is survived by her daughter, Sue Green and her husband Norm of Hammonds Plains, NS, her son, Vaughan and his wife Pat of Wards Creek, by her 3 much loved and loving grandchildren, Laine Green and his wife Erica of Bridgewater, NS, Emily Bell of Saint John and Johannes 'Jan' Bell of Sussex, her brother, Jack Henry and his wife Kay of Apohaqui and by a number of nephews and nieces all of whom held a special place in her heart. Jennie was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Robert, Dean, Willard, George and Frank and by her sisters, Grace, Annie and Margaret. Jennie attended Ainsley College in Ottawa. In her youth she worked at Rothesay Collegiate. She was a long time employee of Kings County Memorial Hospital retiring as Head of Housekeeping in 1976. She was a charter member of Sussex Reformed Baptist Church (Wesleyan). Jennie visited the Holy Land and enjoyed her cottage at Beulah. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Tuesday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held from Sussex Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Stephen Bradley Officiating, with the interment at Riverbank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Sussex Health Centre or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
