Obituary of Gladys Burgess
Mrs. Gladys May Burgess, of Apohaqui, NB, passed away at her residence on July 5, 2004 at the age of 83. Gladys was born in Belleisle Creek, NB on November 19, 1920, she was the daughter of the late C. Trevor and Hazel (Perkins) Dibblee and the beloved wife of the late John Richard Burgess who passed away in 1992. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Eileen Brown and her husband Ken of New Maryland, and 2 sons, Earle Burgess and his wife Marsha of Apohaqui, Terry Burgess and his wife Pat of Moncton, 2 sisters Doris Erb of Hampton, Joyce Somerville of Moncton, 4 grandchildren; Heather Helpard and her husband Dana of Lantz NS, Scott and Eric Brown of Fredericton, Rick Burgess of Apohaqui, 3 great grandchildren Colton Burgess, Haley and Olivia Helpard, as well as several nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by 3 sisters; Phyllis Goddard who passed away in1982, Lois Dibblee who passed away in 1994 and Hilda Dibblee who passed away in 2000. Gladys was a member of the Apohaqui Community Church. She was a Dominion life member of the WMS and a Life Member of The Women's Institute where she held many offices since 1959. She loved crossword puzzles, her telephone, her garden and her grand and great grandchildren. She was also the clerk for the Apohaqui Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Wednesday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held from Apohaqui Community Church on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Interment at Riverbank Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Apohaqui Community Church or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
