Obituary of Anna MacFarland

Mrs. Anna Frances MacFarland, of Sussex, NB, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on June 29, 2004, at the age of 70. Born in Saint John, NB on September 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Annie (Lee) Currie. Anna is survived by 3 daughters Vanda MacFarland and her husband Peter Nurse of Calgary, Jane Tibbet and her husband Glen of Saint John, Beth MacFarland and Duane Aiton of Sussex, her son Peter and his wife Tracey of Roachville, 3 sisters Audrey Sheardown and her husband Terrance of Winnipeg, Connie Buckley of Bayswater, Shirley MacFarland of Clifton Royal, her brother Alvin Currie and his wife Sandra of Bayswater, 5 grandchildren, Wesley, Tyler, Aidan, Matthew and his wife Florence and Ainsley 2 great grandchildren Tristan, and Noah as well as several nieces and nephews, and her special friend Clifford Lemon. Anna was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Blatchford and by her brothers-in-law Jack, David and Wilfred Anna was a former employee at Ben's Meats in the City Market. She loved lobster, reading, dancing, 45's, bridge and Crib. .Anna was a member of Trinity Anglican Church. She was a former member of the Sussex Golf and Curling Club, she also volunteered at the Legion and the Tourist Information Center at Four Corners and taught line dancing. Anna loved to travel and spent several winters in Florida, she enjoyed visits from her grandchildren, going for drives and talking with neighbors on warm sunny afternoons. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Thursday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Friday, July 2, 2004 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Barrett Officiating. A graveside service will be held at Bayswater Cemetery, Kingston Peninsula Friday at 2:30 pm. Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes or to a memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the Family.
