Obituary of Anna Brown
Anna Theresa Brown, of Hammondvale, NB, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on June 7, 2004, at the age of 81. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on July 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James and Alice (Scott) McGouey, the wife of the late Orland E. McDonald who passed away Nov. 5, 1979 and the wife of the late Joseph 'Barry' Brown who passed away July 23, 1993. Theresa is survived by her son, Bob McGouey and his wife Doreen of Hinton, Alberta, her daughter, Gloria Cormier and her husband Edgar, Lachine, Quebec, 3 brothers, Edward McGouey of Hillsdale, Donald McGouey of Hammondvale and Billy McGouey of Saint John, 4 grandchildren, Tammy McGouey-Beach and her husband Brent of Morinville, Alberta, Laurie McGouey and Wade Stephenson of Lacombe, Alberta, Lyne Cormier and Patrick Lestage, Martin Cormier and Anne Turgeon of Lachine, Quebec, 5 great grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Megan, Roxane, Gabrielle, as well as several nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her son Thomas R. McGouey who passed away in 1966, by her brothers John who passed away in 1944 and Gregory who passed away in 1990. Theresa was a member of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church. She was co-owner and operator of MacDonalds General Store in Hammondvale until her retirement in 1993. She was well known and well liked by many outdoor enthusiasts. She received an appreciation plaque from the Fog City 4-Wheelers Club. She loved to knit, play crib, enjoyed fishing and singing in the church choir. Theresa enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Wednesday 2-4, 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 11:00 am Interment in Hammondvale Cemetery.
