Obituary of Kathleen Lafferty
Our circle has been broken. It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Kathleen Agatha (Lucas) Lafferty beloved wife of Hector J. Lafferty, 61 Needle Street, Sussex Corner, New Brunswick. Her death occurred at Sussex Health Centre on May 31, 2004. Born December 24th, 1918 in Chipman, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Lucas and Mary (Nelson) Lucas. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Lucas and her sister Rita Floyd. In earlier years, she attended Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Chipman, NB where she was the organist for many years. Our mother played music by ear and nobody could make a piano or organ sing like she could. Her gracious ways, her music, and lovely little poems will be missed, but cherished by all of us. She will be remembered with great affection by her husband, Hector of nearly, sixty-four (64) years and her eight children: Margaret Anne Nott and her husband George of Saint John, Leo and his wife Lois of Sussex, Marita Jackson and her husband Albert of Petitcodiac, Peter and his wife Bonny of Halifax, Ellen Brown and her husband Stephen of Petitcodiac, Cathy Parsons and her husband Robert of St. John's, Newfoundland, Frances Sarchfield and her husband Calvin of Millbrook, Mark and his wife Patricia of Riverview, thirteen grandchildren, Peter Boudreau, Patricia Lemon, Shannon Lafferty, Patrick Jackson, David Jackson, Jim Lafferty, Lisa McLean, Nicole Killam, Shawndelle McPhee, Logan Sarchfield, Caleigh Sarchfield, Ryan Lafferty and Lacey Lafferty, four great grandchildren, Lindsay Lemon, Kasey and Sophie Killam and Grace Lafferty, her sister, Margaret Lucas of Sussex Corner, 2 sisters-in-law, Evelyn Lafferty Hennessy of Moncton and Marion Lucas of Chipman, as well as several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Tuesday 7-9, Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 11:00 am. Interment at Wards Creek Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Church Hall. Donations in memory of our mother, made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
