For many years they lived in Hammondvale in a beautiful country setting and later bought a mini home in Sussex Corner. Leona missed Hammondvale and thought of it often. Leona enjoyed two vacations that Marion and Steve would take her on each year, one to Nova Scotia and the other to PEI together with the company of her daughter and companion Patricia. Leona always looked forward to these outings, especially going to her homestead in Nova Scotia and spending time with old friends and her only sister Leta, she always hoped that her nephew Carl would be home visiting from Toronto as he always cooked a big turkey dinner. Leona had a love for small dogs, porcelain dolls and stuffed toy animals ? especially teddy bears. She took great pride in her appearance, with every outfit matching and every hair in place. She attended Calvary Pentecostal Church and always enjoyed the special services. She looked forward to the visits to the hospital and at her home from Pastor Troy Campbell and his wife Denise. She was excited about the birth of their son Ryan. Leona loved Christmas; she always decorated her mini home and would bake a variety of Christmas cooking. She made the best squares not to mention her delicious gum drop cake and fruit cake. She would always say,
