Mrs. Mary Steeves, of Sussex, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on February 3, 2004, at the age of 76. Mary was born in Montreal, Quebec on March 29, 1927, and the daughter of the late Wasyl and Anna (Sadoway) Wercholaz and the beloved wife of the late Albert Norman Steeves who passed away in 1995. Mary is survived by her son, Gordon Lenko and his wife Lucie of Montreal, 2 step daughters, Dale Taylor and her husband Sandy of Bay du Vin, NB, Nadine Da Costa and her husband Gordon of Calgary, her brother Gerry and his wife Mireille of Montreal. Mary is also survived by several step-grandchildren, Brent, Sherry, Timmy, Randy, Shayne, Scott and Troy, step great grandchildren, Joshua, Corey, Jewelya, Kevin and Savannah, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a step-grandson, Bruce. Mary was a member of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Brunswick Belle's. and enjoyed playing the violin. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Friday 2-4, 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 2:00 pm Visitation will also take place at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home, Montreal, Quebec on Monday 7-9 pm. Interment will take place at Cimetiere Notre-Dame-des-Neiges in the spring.
