Obituary of Nellie Fowler
Nellie Marion Fowler of Sussex, New Brunswick and formerly of London, Ontario passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on January 29, 2004 at the age of 71. Born in Rusagonis, NB on September 3, 1932, Nellie was the daughter of the late Percy Edward and Lovina (Duncan) Mott. She is survived by her sister; Georgina Daigle and her husband Don of Sussex, 2 brothers, Edward Mott of Rusagonis and Jim Mott and his wife Wanda of Brampton, Ontario, as well as 6 nephews. Nellie was predeceased by 2 sisters, Ginny Mott and Ruby Baird. Nellie was the first of six children. She attended the Rusagonis one room school house from grade 1-8. At the age of 15 she moved to Fredericton where she lived and worked at the Victoria Public Hospital. In 1950, at the age of 18, Nellie married Ronnie Olmstead. The next year they had a premature baby girl who only lived a few hours, named Deborah Ann. A few years later Ronnie and Nellie moved to Ontario where she worked as a clerk for Cairncross Drug Store for many years. After her divorce from Ronnie she met Lloyd Fowler whom she was with for over 28 years. Not having any children of her own Nellie was delighted when Lloyd's children had families of their own and she became a grandmother. Nellie was a beautiful seamstress and loved to sew. She lived every day and took in all the natural delights given by God. She loved the outdoors with all its many wonders, smells, birds and animals. She traveled extensively, experiencing, Great Britain, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Acapulco, Grenada, Dominican Republic and all across Canada. In 2000 Nellie returned to New Brunswick and in December 2001 she became a resident of the Kiwanis Nursing Home and on January 29th 2004 she went to be with the Lord in Heaven. Arrangements in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). The Funeral Service is from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Sunday February 1, 2004 at 1:00pm with Pastor Troy Campbell officiating. Interment will take place at Olivet Wesleyan Cemetery Marysville, NB in the Spring.
