Obituary of Maurice Buchanan
Mr. Maurice Henry Vernon Buchanan was born in Hillsdale on January 27, 1943, he was the son of the late Harry Melbourne and Edna Victoria (McGivery) Buchanan.
Maurice retired from the Department of Transportation after 32 years. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, taking in and caring for stray cats. He was always working on his vehicles to ensure they were in excellent condition. He was a Toronto Maple Leaf fan. He pitched softball and was very serious about his game. He taught Jim and Kevin how to pitch softball and enjoyed attending all their games. Maurice's family and friends were a very important part of his life.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Constance; 2 sons, James and his wife Linda of Hammondvale and Kevin and his fiancee Tammy Scott of Sussex; his sisters and brothers, Eloise Adair and her husband Jim of Picadilly, Melbourne and his wife Marina of Hammondvale; Zeta Seeley and her husband Lloyd of Hammondvale, Doreen McGouey and her husband Robert of Alberta, Melvin and his wife Barb of Hammondvale, Judy McKinnon and her husband Elton of Jeffries Corner, Joan Chown and her husband Marty of Hammondvale, Randy of Hammondvale and Carol Dempster and her husband Ralph of Upham; his mother-in-law, Leona Davis of Riverview; 2 grandchildren, Twyla and Colin; aw well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Valarie.
Mr. Maurice Henry Vernon Buchanan of Hammondvale, passed away at the Victoria General Hospital on January 05, 2004 at the age of 60.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Thursday 2-4, 7-9pm.
A Celebration of Maurice 's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 09, 2004 at 11:00 am. The interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery.
