Obituary of George Ridgley

Mr. George Clayton Ridgley, of 14 Maxwell Dr. Sussex, NB, passed away at his residence, on January 1, 2004 at the age of 80.

George was born in Halifax, NS on February 2, 1923, the son of the late Cpt. George and Agnes Ridgley.

George is survived by his beloved wife Elsie Victoria (Boutlier), 2 daughters Carlyn Ridgley of Moncton, Noreen Fox and her husband Ondon of Fredericton, 2 sons George and his wife Donna of New River Beach, Tom and his Rosemarie of Rothesay, 2 sisters, Hazel Jordan and Melvina Gauvin, 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Mandi (Philip), Dawn, Kimberly, Kelly, Jonathan and George, 5 great grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle Lewis, Alex Ridgley, Isabella and Ava Block, as well as several nieces and nephews.

George was predeceased by his son, David who passed away in 1974.

George served over seas during WWII from 1940 to 1945 as an able seaman RCNVR. He was an electrical contractor and owned and operated Brunswick Electric. He was a member of the New Brunswick Lodge # 22 F&AM and a member of the Sussex Shrine Club.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At George's request there will be no visitation or funeral service.

The interment will take place at Sunnybank Cemetery, Fredericton in the spring.

In lieu of flowers donations made to the Sussex Health Centre Dialysis Fund, Shriners Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
