Obituary of Violet Keirstead

Mrs. Violet Rose Keirstead, of the Kiwanis Nursing Home, formerly of Collina and Cedar Ave, Sussex, passed away at her residence on October 23, 2003 at the age of 88.

Born in Presque Isle Maine on March 2, 1915, she was the daughter of the late James and Birdie (Thompkins) Grant and the beloved wife of the late Burton Keirstead who passed away in 1982.

Violet is survived by her daughter Madeline Ness and her husband John of Sussex, her son, Nelson and his wife Marjorie of Berwick, her sister, Gladys Wainwright of Chipman 10 grandchildren; Joanne, Kathy, Clayton, Lloyd, Sally, Randy, Tina, Ronnie, Michael and Debbie, 17great grandchildren; Jenna, Natalie, Kaley, Jordan, Ryan, Adam, Megan, Kevin, Amanda, Brandon, Gabrielle, Riley, Derian, Justine, Krystal, Christopher and Ashley, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Violet was predeceased by her infant twins James and Margaret, by 4 brothers Clayton, Robert, Ira and Donald and by a sister Phyllis.

Violet was a former employee in the Tea Room of Barbour Foods. She was a member of the Collina and Pearsonville WI and St. Paul's United Church. She was a Life Member of Agape Unit of St. Paul's United Church UCW. She was a former member of the Millstream Valley LOBA # 1389.

Arrangements in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Friday 2-4, 7-9. The Millstream Valley LOBA # 1389 will hold a tribute Friday evening at 6:45.

The Funeral Service is from St. Paul's United Church on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Staff Associate Minister Jeanette Cosman officiating.

A private family internment at Riverbank Cemetery followed by a time of fellowship with the family in the Church Hall. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church or to the Memorial of the donor's choice.
