Obituary of Eva Steeves
Mrs. Eva Viola Steeves, of Sussex, NB, passed away at her residence on October 20, 2003, at the age of 95. She was born in Wards Creek NB on December 2, 1907, Eva was the daughter of the late Arthur N. and Mable (Walker) Friars and the beloved wife of the late Max Steeves who passed away in 2000. Eva is survived by 3 sons, Beverly and his wife Sharon of Riverview, Dr. Alfred and his wife Helen of New Maryland, Donald and his wife Carolyn of Elgin, her brother, Donald and his wife Jennifer of Ridgewood, NJ, USA, 8 grandsons, Michael, Timothy, Matthew, Shane, Luke, Adam, Travis, Andrew, a granddaughter, Kimberly and 2 great grandsons, TJ and Nicholas, as well several nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by her brothers, Percy, Pearson, Beverly, Harry and a sister Vina Campbell. Eva was an educator in various schools throughout New Brunswick, with most years in Elgin, NB. Eva served as a classroom teacher as well as principal. She worked in her community as a cub leader and was an avid reader, gardener, quilter and traveler having toured in Africa, Europe Australia, New Zealand, Trinidad and traveled extensively throughout Canada and United States. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Tuesday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service is from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Bradley L. Little of the 1st Congregational Church, Fredericton. Interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Children Wish Foundation of Canada or to the charity of the Donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
