Obituary of Allan Patterson
Allan Martin Patterson, of Penobsquis, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on September 29, 2003, at the age of 67. Born in Mt. Pisgah, on July 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Martin and Ada (Mallory) Patterson. Allan is survived by his beloved wife Shirley (Gregg), 10 children: David and his wife Joy of Belleisle, Eva Douthwright and her husband Richard of Ontario, Curtis Baskin, Harvey Baskin and his wife Linda, Jean Robinson, Dayle Baskin and his wife Diane, Charles Baskin and his wife Cathy, Shirley Mercer, Harold Baskin and his wife Sheena, Christopher Baskin and his wife Christine all of Sussex, 22 grandchildren, Tom, Tammy, Corey, Yvonne, Mark, Curtis, Colton, Maurice, Ashley, Sabrina, Andrew, Andrea, Jonathan, Sylvia, Rachel, Bobby, Crystal, Dougie, Rebecca, Joshua, Darcy, Megan, 13 great-grandchildren: Justin, Taylor, Kyle, Greg, Frankie Jr., Marshall, Justine, Mitchell, Jillian, Tristan, Ty, Madison, Tashia, 3 brothers, Roy and his wife Dale, George and his wife Jean, Gerald and his wife Rita all of Sussex, his sister, Marguerite Komazic of Oshawa, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Allan was predeceased by 2 sisters, Viola and Madeline, his brother Simon and by his grandson, Nicholas. In earlier years Al was trucker, later he owned and operated Al's Taxi Service in Sussex. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing and cards. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service is from Penobsquis United Baptist Church on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 11:00 am with Pastor Gordon MacKenzie officiating, followed by a time of fellowship with the family. A private family interment will take place later at Trinity Cemetery.
