Obituary of Lew Scribner
Mr. Lew Cedric 'Jack' Scribner of Sussex Corner, NB passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on Friday August 15, 2003 at the age of 86. Born in Kingston NB, he was the son of the late Frederick and Agnes (Flewelling) Scribner. Jack is survived by Irene (Godwin) his wife of 53 years and by 2 sisters-in-law Margaret Smith of Sussex and Barbara Armstrong and her husband Graeme of Sarnia Ont. his niece Marilyn Scott and her husband Harold of Moncton and his nephew Roland Scribner of Vancouver as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Roland and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Jack was employed with Cabot Carbon Service Unit of Canada as a mechanic for over 30 years. He served overseas during WWII from 1939-1946 stationed in Italy, France, Germany and Holland with the 8th Princess Louise's (NB) Hussars. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20, St. Mark's Anglican Church and Corinthian Lodge #13 F&AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Monday 2-4, 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Marks Anglican Church on Tuesday at 10:00am. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 will hold a tribute on Monday evening at 6:30pm followed by a Masonic tribute at 6:45pm led by Corinthian Lodge # 13, Hampton and Zion Lodge #21 F&AM, Sussex. The Committal Service will be held at Fern Hill Cemetery, Saint John, NB at 1:00pm
