Obituary of Blake Alexander Sherwood

Blake Alexander Sherwood was born in Saint John on October 9, 1997 at 2:46am, just in time for Thanksgiving Dinner. He was the son of Wayne and Margaret (Hutton) Sherwood and brother to Bran. Blake was very active, creative and curious. He had many friends who remember him being funny. He loved playing practical jokes with his friends. He was also very kind and loving would help anyone if they needed something. Blake loved spending time with his grandparents, Bob and Judy and his grandmother Yvonne. He enjoyed whale watching with his cousin Cole and being teased by his aunts and uncles which he lovingly returned. As years passed, he acquired many nicknames: Spanky, Blakester, Little Bear and Tubs. Blake was a student at Sussex High School who loved his family, friends and the color red, (which happens to be the color of his favorite dirt bike, a "Honda") and his favorite dirt bike rider was #199 Travis Patrana. Along with his parents, Blake will leave his mark on the hearts of his brother Brandan; his maternal grandparents Bob and Judy Hutton, his paternal grandmother Yvonne Sherwood; his aunts and uncles: Carolyn Arsenault and her husband Rod, Bruce Hutton and his wife Lorie, Carol Arnold and her husband Jim, Marilyn Sherwood and her husband Greg and Cheryl Curbishley and her husband Geoff, as well as his cousins: Ben, Meghan, Cole, Aaron, Colby, Darcy, Mitchell, Shelby and Chelsea. Blake Alexander Sherwood of Apohaqui passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on September 12, 2012 at the age of 14. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather Doug Sherwood who passed away in 1993. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15, from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
