Obituary of Eric William Jordan
Mr. Eric William Jordan was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 2, 1937; he was the son of the late William Luther and Violet Louise (Roulston) Jordan.
During his lifetime Eric held many positions. He was a newspaper photographer in Ontario, a farm hand with Grant Floyd in Roachville and Harold Friars in Wards Creek. He was employed in the tea room department of G. E. Barbour's Ltd. With Irving Oil delivering fuel in Hampton, Petitcodiac and Sussex, from where he began his own fuel delivery company under Petro Fina where he remained for six years. Later he was employed by J. D. Irving Woodlands as a certified wood grader in Penfield and Sussex. In 1988 he moved to Ontario to work for Markham Disposal. Among his hobbies were; playing baseball, umpiring softball games, photography, Sunday drives with his family always making time to have coffee with family, friends and truckers at various restaurants in the area. Eric is a former member of the Queen's Scouts and the CB Club.
Eric is survived by his 3 daughters: Dianne of Sussex, Barbara of Sussex, and Angela Weston and her husband Dana of Sussex; 2 sons: David and his wife Cindy of Whitby, Ontario, and James of Sussex; 4 grandchildren: Tyler Jordan, Kayla Goddard, Rebecca Jordan and Brady Weston; 2 cousins: Gretchen Gilbert and John Gilbert.
Mr. Eric William Jordan, of Sussex, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on June 1, 2003. He was predeceased by his brother, Linwood and by a sister, Anne Louise.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Celebration of Eric's life will be held at St. Paul's United Church on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 2:00 pm. with Rev. Philip Dallimore officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
