Obituary of Cathleen Thompson
Friends and relatives are saddened to hear of the death of Cathleen (Cay) Elsie Thompson, of the Kiwanis Nursing Home and formerly of Penobsquis. Cay passed away at Kiwanis Nursing Home on May 13, 2003 at the age of 82. Born in Chipman NB on September 23, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Sara Anita (Weaver) Brown and the beloved wife of the late Joseph Thompson who passed away in 1989. Cay is survived by 3 sons, Clive of Kingston, Nicholas and his wife Nancy and Tony and his wife Linda all of Penobsquis. She is also survived by 7 Grandchildren; Joe, Stephen, Rick, Nicole and her husband Troy, Troy and his wife Dawn, Jason and his wife Kristina and Cary, 6 great grandchildren: Michael, Jessica, Nicholas, Kristen, Kaitlin and Griffin as well as several nieces and nephews predeceased by 3 brothers, Lester, Robert and Vaughan Brown, a sister, Alta Mae Smith and a granddaughter Lisa. Cay was employed at the Kings County Memorial Hospital for 20 years and at the Sussex Health Centre and Kiwanis Nursing Home for 4 years before retiring in 1984 due to ill health. She was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Sussex, NB. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Thursday 2-4, 7-9pm. The Funeral Service is from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Cardwell Cemetery.
