Obituary of Viola Buchanan

Mrs. Viola Elizabeth Buchanan, of Sussex, NB, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on April 13, 2003. Born in Sussex, NB on July 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Otty and Edna (Colpitts) Smith and the beloved wife of the late Milton George Buchanan who passed away in 1996. Viola is survived by 2 sons, Dr. Carl R. Buchanan and his wife Ann of Sydney, NS, Richard M. Buchanan and his wife Mavis of Fredericton, a brother, Everett Smith and his wife Wilma of Dutch Valley, 2 sisters, Ida Brooks of Sussex, Dorothy Leach and her husband Vernon of Sussex, a brother-in-law Eldon Buchanan and his wife Doris of Rockville, Sister-in-law, Sadie Gamble of Trenton, Ontario, 6 grandchildren, Kimberly, Susan, MaryEllen, Alison, Brent, Angela, 6 great grandchildren, Breton, Anthony, Haley, Noah, Emma Rose, Lauryn, several nieces and nephews. Viola was predeceased by 2 sons Earl and George, 3 brothers, Frank, Donald, Ralph. Viola was a member Trinity Anglican Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir. She was also a member of the Royal Chapter of the IODE, the ACW. Viola was a representative of Avon Canada for more than 41 years, for which she held the position of Regional Assistant Manager. Arrangements in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Monday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service is from Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Barrett officiating. Interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring. The Pallbearers are: Gary Smith, Roger Smith, Shawn Murphy, Brent Buchanan, Jack Brooks and Derek Weber.
