Mrs. Gladys Irene Mitchell of the Kiwanis Nursing Home and formerly of Cody's, NB, passed away at her residence on March 17, 2003. Born in Leads, England on August 28, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Rose (White) Shiers and the wife of the late Carson Alexander Mitchell who passed away in 1973. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Mary Olsen of Rothesay, NB her sister, Nina Starkey of Hampton, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Bob and Bill and by her son David who passed away in 2002. Gladys was a member of the Rothesay Senior Citizens Club, and a former member and past president of the Cody's Women's Institute. Arrangements in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Wednesday 7-9pm. Funeral Service is from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Coles Island Cemetery in the spring.
