Obituary of Dorothy Robinson

Dorothy Catherine Robinson, of 7 Sprague Street, Sussex, NB, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Sussex Health Centre on February 8, 2003. Born in Saint John, NB on May 9, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Alfred MacLeod and Bertha Iola (Cook) Riedle. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Clarence G. Robinson who passed away in 1971. Dorothy is survived by her children, Frank and his wife Janet of Mt. Middleton, Austin and his wife Pat of Lake Utopia, Emma Brown and her husband Wayne of Sussex Corner, Catherine Jones and her husband Harry of Fredericton, Margaret Calvert and her husband John of Bloomfield, Helen Brown and her husband Daniel of Fredericton, her sisters, Helen Cosman of Sussex and Ethyl Long of Riverbank, her brother Burton Riedle and his wife Elizabeth of Carsonville, sister-in-laws, Doreen Robinson, Florence Arnold, Elva Alcorn, Elsie Robinson and brother-in-law, Harold Arnold, 15 grandchildren, Scott Robinson (Jennie) of Arizona, Stephen Robinson of Middleton, Carolyn Norman (Ross) of St. George, Krista Taylor (Ron) of Halifax, Andrew Robinson of Lake Utopia, Laura Ravn (Mark) of Sussex Corner, Stephanie Rogers (Craig) of Truro, Matthew Brown of Calgary, Susan Roblee (Troy) of Quispamsis, Jon Dauphinee (Shelly) of Saint John, Maggie Dauphinee of Fredericton, Amy McCombe (Jim) of Rothesay, Joseph Calvert (Anneke) of Saint John, Sara Brown of Portland, Maine and Dana Brown of Fredericton, 8 great grandchildren: Rachel Norman, Cally, Zachary and Jacob Ravn of Sussex Corner, Jenna and Emily Roblee, Emma and Catherine Dauphinee. Dorothy was predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Rachel Robinson and Timothy Brown. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's United Church and the UCW. She was a lifetime member of the WI. She was involved with the 4-H Roachville Busy Stitches. Dorothy was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She traveled all over the world. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday 3-6. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Philip Dallimore Officiating. Interment will take place at Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring. Memorials made to the N.B. Lung Association, Mt. Hebron United Church or the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
