Obituary of Stanley Lord
Mr. Stanley Raymond Lord of Sussex passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 20, 2011 at the age of 64.
Born in Sussex on April 08, 1947, he was the son of the late Roy and Hazel (Coates) Lord.
Stan grew up at the four corners and went to school in Sussex up to grade ten. When he was seventeen, Stan went to work at Glendale homes working as a carpenter. He then went on to MMH and Rodney Erb Construction.
Stan was always very spoiled by his sisters and yet he still loved to tease them. He loved to tease everybody and never missed an opportunity to do so. He loved to play spades and poker at the Legion and also played spades on the computer. His hobby was buying and selling vehicles which he did for many years. He was a kind and caring man who loved his family first. He would buy "rockets" for the kids because he knew all kids love rockets.
He was the first to help anyone in need and would build whatever was asked of him. He would never take money for his good deeds as he loved to work for a good meal. He loved his kids and especially travelling to Florida with them.
Stan was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be lovingly remembered for all the good he accomplished in his life.
Stan is survived by his wife, Dawn; his children: Shelly Lord of Alberta and David Lord and Errin Smith of Roachville; his step children: Ryan Keith and Jennifer Parker of Oromocto, Alayna Keith and Steve ,Brendan Keith and Bailey Dawson all of Alberta, four sisters: Barb Walsh and her husband Mike of Roachville; Donna Middleton and her husband Avard of Anagance, Linda Murray of Sussex and Debbie Murphy and her husband Lewis of Smith Creek; his best friend Kim Brown and her husband Todd of Sussex, his grandson Travis Lord, his step grandson Cullen Keith; his aunts and uncles: Mable Campbell of Saint John, Dorothy Coates Sussex, Dorothy Lee of St. George, Karen Nickerson and her husband Fred of Saint John, Alden Lord and his wife Eunice of St. George, Sadie LeBlanc of NS and Francis and Frank O'Brien of Sudbury. as well as several nieces nephews and cousins. Stanley is predeceased by his son Leslie in 1967.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex, from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
There will be a Tribute by the Sussex Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #20 at 5:45 on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.
A Celebration of Stanley's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11:00am with Rev. Scott Hillier officiating.
