I would like to thank everyone who attended my Fathers Service. And all who sent well wishes to our Family. We were very shocked to learn that there was not much time left here on earth for my father as he took a turn for the worst. As we all know. Dad loved music and he loved people thats what made his life feel complete.He traveled all over the country side to play and do benifets for ones in need.He always had a kind word or a funny story to tell and seemed to make people happy in his presents. I am thankful my father did not suffer long as so many do with cancer. I feel that God has a bigger plan. He will be playing in heaven.I am forever grateful for Lucy I know she will keep his memories alive in all of us, with all her love support and her stories of the trips and special times they shared over the years. She will never let us loose sight of who Dad really was. Althought the service was very hard on the family I was proud to meet all of you and hear the kind words you shared about my father. No one will ever take his place here on earth as he will remain a hard act to follow..To the fellow who made the urn That was the best send off in my books for my Father. Thank you so much for that,your timming was perfect and to mike for the kind words you said to me as i left the hall I will never forget. My 5 year old Daughter Abby who loved her Grampy told me the other nite that Lifes just not as fun without Gramp,I told her I agreed then I hugged her tight and we listened to his CD While she played her Guitar and sang along. The news of Gary's passing was to say the least sad...the many times we had the chance to meet, there was lots of singing and laughter. Gary will be missed by all who knew him as a friend and as a relative. His visits to me and Donna in Jacquet River was short, but always a pleasure to hear his stories of life and laughter. Perhaps now he can be at peace with all that troubled him...we loved him and will miss him in our lives forever...

I was so shocked and saddened by the passing of Gary.I`ve known Gary for many years.He dropped in for a visit just a short while ago.He was cheerful and caring as always and of coarse he had that wonderful sense of humor.I loved his bear hugs.I always said he was just like a big cuddly teddy bear.He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand in his community.It is a very sad loss to all that knew him.Gary and his music will be missed always. I am so very sorry for this tremendous loss. Gary was such a great fellow, and so many people were affected by his life. Never did I hear Gary complain about anything - even when he was sick! <P>We are so sorry and saddened by the passing of Gary. I first met Gary twenty years ago on the morning of December 13th after the fire on Maple Avenue. Gary has always been a great friend to me and my children Lisa, Brandon, Matthew, Jamie and Katie. He would always sing a favorite song "Too old to die young" I remember the excitment in Gary when he told me he and Lucy had met Moe Bandy on a trip. Gary really was Country Music. Another fond memory of Gary is when he took me to visit my mother when she was very ill with cancer and he sang to her all one afternoon. The inspiration he was for each of my children to play an instrument and to appreciate music. Bless your heart Gary Burgess you will remain loved and missed dearly by all. We would like to express our condolences to Lucy, the Burgess family and Gary's children, Susie and Andy. It was a shock to hear that Gary left us but now he is HOME and in a world that allows singing, laughing and no dark areas. We will miss him!! When he came up to Dalhousie, New Brunswick to visit us mostly in the summer, we would be singing, partying, laughing and eating. Our family always seemed to come alive with him and we would be up to all hours of the night. He did have an infectious laugh, always share a smile with us and just be himself, lovable, teddy bear and cuddly. We will not be able to make the service for Gary as we are in Ottawa & Cambridge, Ontario while Lynda and Michael are in Dalhousie. Take care and all our love!!PSS!! Gary will be missed by our family very much. He was there when his aunt, Joyce Cameron Chapados, passed away after a short illness in March of 2002. He was always ready with a laugh and his corny jokes. He liked to sing songs written by his Unc Doug. He was a pleasure when visiting as he liked to tease his Aunt Joyce. We feel he is now home with his son, Johnny, and pain free and smiling.Love from his Chapados family.
