Obituary of Bernice Ellen Jane Mason
Bernice Mason was born on Keirstead Mountain on December 8, 1916. She was the daughter of Oliver and Maude (McFarlane) Kelly and was the wife of Joseph E. Mason who passed away in 1985.
She was a farmer's wife and could certainly milk the cows and look after the turkeys. Bernice loved her Bible, her Church, knitting, sewing, quilting as well as anything to do with the outdoors and gardening.
Bernice will continue to live on in the hearts of her four daughters: Connie Hayes, Louise Cosman and her husband Douglas, Marilyn Phinney and Ann Smit and her husband Karst "Carey"; her sons: Fred and his wife Shirley and John and his wife Dorena; her daughter-in-law Carol Mason; her sister Helen Hatfield: her brothers: Austin Kelly and his wife Darlene and Harris Kelly and his wife Isabelle.

Her great great great grandchild, Oliver, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bernice Ellen Jane Mason passed away peacefully at her home in Carsonville, on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the age of 96.
Bernice is predeceased by her husband; her son Bert, two infant children; three brothers: Ralph, Ashley and Arlington Kelly; three sisters: Olive Amos, Marjorie Mason and Mildred Logan; her sons-in-law Delbert Hayes and Ernest Phinney; her granddaughters Valerie Bernice Hayes and Joanne Mason and her great great granddaughter, Gabrielle McMinniman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Dr. Sussex, (506) 433-1176, where visitation will be held on Monday March 4th from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
A service celebrating Bernice's life will be held from Sussex Baptist Church on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 2:00pm with Pastor Brian Steeves officiating.
There will be a time of fellowship with the family immediately following the service.
A private family interment will take place at Union Cemetery at the Head of Millstream.
