Obituary of Douglas Allan McKenna
Doug was born in Erb Cove on May 5, 1940; he was the son of the late James and Lois (Wetmore) McKenna.
Doug was a retired carpenter contractor and Emceed at many music shows, he loved the outdoors, talking to the animals music, watching a good Boston- Montreal hockey game, his vegetable and flower gardens and wood working.
Doug will live on in the hearts of Shirley, his beloved wife of almost 13 years; his daughter Lois (McKenna) McQuinn and her husband Donald of Saskatchewan; his two sons: Allan McKenna of Sudbury and Dwayne McKenna and Leanne (Gohreg) of Red Deer Alberta; his step-son John Norden of Saint John; his brothers: Edwin and Gordon; his sister, Pat Greenlaw; his grandchildren: Mitchell McQuinn and his wife Stephanie, Brent McKenna, Victoria Surgouson and her husband Jeff, Melissa Ferguson and her husband Walter, Daniel, Jeremy, Evan, Nicholas, and Leigh McKenna; four great grandchildren: Cameron, Sara, Rochelle and Colton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Douglas Allan McKenna of Anagance passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on April 11, 2013 at the age of 72. He is predeceased by the mother of his children: Vernetta (Crocker) McKenna and by his brother Garry.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).
A service celebrating Doug's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 2:00pm.
