This is a story Greta once told me ... When she was quite young, a psychic told her that she would meet and fall in love with a man from "across the big pond." Years later, she met "John Taylor" aka Stephen John Kovachik. When he spoke with an accent, she remembered what the psychic had said and thought that perhaps this was "the man." Greta assumed though that he was French from across the St. Lawrence River and the province of Quebec ... not the Czechoslovakian, from across the Atlantic ocean. :) Nevertheless, they fell in love and spent almost sixty years together!
There are so many things I will miss about you, Greta. You were always so welcoming to me, even as a young bride about to take your oldest son away from you. :) You were the best homemaker I've ever seen. One could eat your great meals right off the floor! I certainly hope that "Heaven" meets your level of cleanliness. :) So, it's with a smile and a kiss that I bid you a fond farewell, with hopes that, one day, we shall meet again.

Sorry to hear about Greta, I worked with Greta at the Belleisle Creek Home for a month, she was a wonderful lady and lots of stories to share. Thinking of all the family and friends of Greta's she was a well loved lady.

Our sympathy to Greta's sons and their families in her recent death. Greta was always pleasant and full of fun and life. She enjoyed her daily visits to Tim's and chatted to the people who surrounded her. She was a strong woman who during her life had many losses --- losing a husband, grandson, a brother, several sisters and parents as afterall she was the oldest in her family. Our thoughts are with you. May Greta rest in peace as she is now joined with the others who have passed before her.

I remember Greta telling me how she came to live in Galt as a young lady and how homesick she was for the East Coast. So, Greta would go to the train station in Galt, stand on the platform, wave to the passengers and cry as they were leaving. Greta became a strong, independent woman with the guidance and love of a wonderful husband, children and grandchildren. Her memory will go on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I was privileged to know Greta for over 40 years. We may not have been close in miles but were close in calls and cards. Greta always thought she had a wonderful life and was very proud of her family. My heart and thoughts are with you at this time. Greta & John (Steve) will always be watching over you.
