Obituary of Harold Joseph Beach

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mr. Harold Joseph Beach of Coles Island who passed away at his home on August 1, 2013. Harold was born on August 8, 1927 in Saint John and was the son of the late Hartley and Edna (Lewis) Beach. Harold was born and raised in Coles Island, and continued to call it home there for the remainder of his life. Harold spent his working years doing construction work, driving tractor trailer, hauling pulp and operating machines in the woods. Harold even made a few bucks in his last few years mowing lawns which he seemed to enjoy doing. Harold met his sweetheart, Julia, and the two were married in 1955. They were blessed with two beautiful girls after losing their son Richard. He and Julia worked tirelessly to take care of their girls. Brenda and Ginger were his whole life and he thought the world of them. Harold enjoyed hunting deer and partridge and for a few years was an avid dart player. He didn't have much time for hobbies because he was always busy working, helping other people and having fun with the many friends he made throughout the years. Harold was happy to welcome Jimmy and Mike into his family and loved them like his own. He was proud to become a Grampy in 1996 and Connor was added to his life of adored people. Harold lived a long and prosperous life, giving all he could, taking little and making sure he knew everyone and they knew him. He was an important part of his community and he will be missed. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his daughters: Brenda and her husband Jimmy Leck and Ginger and her husband Mike Greenough; his special grandson, Connor; his sisters: Shirley and Eleanor as well as several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife, Julia, his parents and his infant son, Richard; his brothers: Irvine, Clarence, Ensley, Willard, Bliss, Vern and Walter and by his sister Bertha. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176, from where visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Harold's life will take place at the Wallace Community Chapel on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 2pm. There will be a time of fellowship with Harold's family immediately following the service in the Wallace Funeral Home Reception Area. A private family interment will take place at the Coles Island Cemetery. If you are considering making a memorial donation, the family has recommended the Coles Island Cemetery or the People's Serenity Garden. www.wallacefuneralhome.com
