I am so sorry to learn of your mother's death. I just found out this morning. She was such a great lady. I am so glad I got to see her recently when she was in hospital with my mom. I was just asking my Uncle Alan (Bickerton) about Jean only a couplee of weeks ago and he told me she was still living at her home. She was a wonderful woman who enjoyed having kids around, hers and her kids friends. I can remember going out there after helping my grandfather in the hay fields and heading down to the river with Peter and Leslie and my sister, Adrienne and cousins John and Michael. We often would pile into the kitchen after and Jean would find something for us to munch on. I only have fond memories of Jean and her husband Lawrence. To you guys, Peter, Neil and Garth and you girls, Leslie and Sylvia, we shared many wonderful moments together and I am very pleased to have known both your Mom and Dad. God bless and keep you during this time of loss. May if be a great time of celebration because that is how I believe Jean would have it.

I have great childhood memories of Aunt Jean (often a visit after skiing at Poley), but what's standing out most right now is how her Meet the Ancestors earlier this year event brought so many together. It was great to hear her share with Barb the family history on CBC and I can say I was definitely waiting with anticipation after to hear the presentations via YouTube. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the videos and seeing the pictures that followed. She was an amazing lady who made me proud of my family heritage and, even after years in the Yukon, a little homesick for NB.
