HOLDER, Eleanor Jean (nee Henderson) November 4, 1921 - August 20, 2013 We, the Holder Family, announce the passing of our much loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Eleanor Jean Holder, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. She passed away peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre surrounded by her family. Jean was born in Holderville and is the daughter of late Thurlow and Elmina Grace Henderson (nee Crawford). Jean is survived by her three sons; Peter (Coleen) of Lower Millstream, Neil (Joan) of Hinton, AB, Garth (Maureen) of Moncton, her two daughters Lesley Perry (John) of Codys, and Sylvia Holder of Fredericton, her sister Gladys Titus of Gorham's Bluff, and her sister-in-law Anne Henderson of Guelph, ON; her 12 grandchildren: Dennis (Kari), Tara (Derek), Danny (Amy), Brian (Samantha), Jenny (Mike), Craig (Sara), Larry, Leah, Keith (Jill), Kate, Evan (Brittany), and Stacy (Miles);15 great-grandchildren; her cousins: Barb Schurman and Sadie Blaine as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by her husband Lawrence, her four sisters, Charlotte, Margaret, Mary and Betty, two brothers, Gordon and John, and one son-in-law, James Barnett. Jean was a Veteran of WWII, serving overseas for the RCAF WD. Upon her return to Canada, she and Lawrence (Larry) Holder wed on July 20, 1946. They eventually settled in Lower Millstream and ran a dairy farm until Larry's death in 1970. Subsequently Jean moved to the Lower Millstream Corner which was her residence until the time of her death. Jean retired after 15 years service with the Department of Education District #18 as an Attendance Officer. Jean was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Sussex Branch #20 and the Silas James United Church. Visitation will be held at Wallace Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm with a Legion Tribute Sussex Branch #20 being held at 5:45pm. There will be a Celebration of held at Wallace Community Chapel at 10:30 on Friday, August 23, 2013 with interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery.
