Obituary of Marion Parlee
Marion was born in Sussex on June 7th 1942; she was the daughter of James and Jennie (Caldwell) King both of Sussex.
Marion graduated in 1960 from Sussex High School. She was very active on the sports team in school and held a record for the High Jump. She also had a pet rabbit which she would walk on a leash in downtown Sussex.
Marion married Glendon Parlee on April 20, 1963. They went on to have two daughters and three sons and worked very hard to take care of their family. Marion worked in the Public Works Government Services Hydrographic Engineering until June 2007.
Marion was an avid gardener and loved bargain shopping in Bangor. She enjoyed a lot of outdoor activities with her husband and her sons such as snow shoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and ATVing at Back Woodsmen Lodge. She also looked forward to the summers which would include walking on the beach and sun worshiping with her daughter.
Marion loved to laugh and tease. She also was quick to help others who were in need, even while living at Shannex in Quispamsis. She loved her family and was very proud of each and every one of them.
Marion was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who made life better by knowing her.
Marion will live on in the hearts children: Bob and his wife Suzanne of Quispamsis, Wayne and his wife Pamela of Quispamsis and Stephen and his wife Samantha of Rothesay; Ann Neil and her husband Stephen of Riverview and Karen Wagg and her husband James of Quispamsis; her ten grandchildren: Nicholas, Katie, Olivia , Jenna , Stephanie, Andrew, Megan, Ashley, Jessica and Erin; her sisters: Helen Marr, Edna Ross and her husband Don, and Evelyn Christian; her brother James King and his wife Joanne as well as several nieces and nephews. Marion is predeceased by her beloved husband Glendon in 2008, her brother William King and by her brother in law David Christian.
Mrs. Marion Alberta Parlee of Quispamsis, passed away at her residence on December 25, 2013 at the age of 71.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:00 am followed by a reception in the Church Hall.
The interment will take place at St. Phillips Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
