Obituary of William Stewart

Bill Stewart was born in Dalhousie on May 5, 1936, to the late J. A. Reid Stewart of Dalhousie and Annie (Miller) Stewart of Charlo, NB. Bill was a long time independent electrical contractor for the Sussex area. In addition to running his business he was active and dedicated to many community organizations, spending countless hours volunteering in various roles. Favourite pastimes saw him involved as a participant and organizer with the NB Plowing Association, the NB Antique Car Club, Sussex Golf and Curling Club, and Scouts Canada. He proudly supported the Canadian Red Cross as a long time donor. In later years, he enjoyed participating in St. Pauls United Church choir, Sussex Ramblers, Gyros, and Fundy Silverados. Bill will continue to have his place in the hearts of, Eva (Sharpe) his beloved wife of almost 15 years; his daughter, Debbie Knox and her husband Terry of Coburg, ON; his son, Jeffrey and his wife Sheri of Quispamsis; his brother, John (Bud) Stewart of Dalhousie; his sister, Elizabeth Pollock and her husband Allison of Tide Head; his grandchildren: Kara, Tyler, Benjamin and Jamie; his sisters-in-law: Dot Stewart of Dalhousie, Barb Stewart of Fredericton, Alma Jean Mundle and her husband Ronald, Halga Phillips and her husband David, Mary Ellen Branch, Evelyn Fanjoy, Elva MacLean and her husband Talmage, Elsie Boland and her husband Donnie and Alegra Sharpe; his brothers-in-law: Murray Branch and his wife Bev, Grover Sharpe and his wife Myrna, Gordon Sharpe and his wife Norma, Larry Sharpe and Amanda and Lloyd Sharpe and his wife Brenda Sharpe; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. William Beverly Stewart of Sussex Corner passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on May 12, 2014 at the age of 78. He is predeceased by his first wife Janice Branch of Bathurst, who passed away in 1996; his brothers: Reg and Gerry; his sister-in-law, Eva and by his brother-in-law, Allen. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
