Obituary of Winnifred Sprague

Winnie was born in Doyles Brook on the Miramichi River, on August 6, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Silas Thomas Curtis of Doyles Brook and Margaret Ellen (Gallon) Upper Nelson and was the wife of the late Donald Clarence Sprague who passed away January 16, 2004. Winnie will live on in the hearts of her daughters: Ellen and Greg Morris of New Maryland and Faye and Kevin Steeves of Penobsquis; her sons: Dale and Nancy Sprague of Cornhill and Gordon Sprague of Grand Bay; her daughter-in-law Lucille and Robert LePage of Prince George, BC, her sister Betty and Harold Rodd of Truro, NS, her brothers: Dorwin Curtis of Upper Blackville, Tommy and Elva Curtis of Truro, NS as well as 12 grandchildren: Christine and Troy Sprague-Hay of Grand Bay, Jamie Sprague and Oliver Crozier of Hampton, Jeremy and Ashley Sprague of Crossfield Alberta, Trevor and Jessie Sprague of Prince George, Trent Sprague of Dawson Creek, Tim Sprague of Prince George, Gregory and Katie Young-Morris of Regina, Levi Sprague of Hyth Alberta, Laci and Brad Goodbrand Beaver Lodge, Alberta, Katelyn Meier and Colby Arnold, Barry and Lindsay Steeves of Penobsquis and Rebekah Steeves of Penobsquis; 19 great grandchildren: Eliot, Rhyann, Tilley, Quinn, Violet Abriella, Julianna, Katherine, Tiffany, Blair, Trilynn, Easton, Alexandria Winnifred, Noah, Bowen, Theoryn, Weston, Jacob and Lauren, Sophia, Kristina and Brett; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Winnifred Barbara Sprague of Hampton and formerly of Sussex and Petitcodiac passed away on January 1, 2015 at the age of 81. She is predeceased by her son, Blair; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Sprague; her brother Leon Curtis and by her sisters: Phyllis Peterson, Louise Mowbray and Nora McLeod. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A service celebrating Winnie's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2pm.
