Obituary of Jane Secord
Jane Ethel Secord was born in Penobsquis, NB on November 2, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Harold C. Secord and Ethel Jean (Hall) Secord Cowan.
Jane was born and raised in Penobsquis. She was the oldest of five children. She graduated from high school in Sussex in 1953. She then went on to pursue a career as a x-ray technician at the Sussex Hospital, where she was in charge of the x-ray unit for many years. She enjoyed her work and took great pride in it. She retired in August of 1996.
Jane enjoyed traveling, reading, bowling and playing bridge. She had a wonderful circle of friends that she enjoyed spending time with.
Jane's family meant everything to her. She was always there to lend a helping hand and have a story or two to tell. She was actively involved in her nieces and nephews lives and was so proud of all their accomplishments.
Jane touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Jane will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Bob Secord and his wife Sondra of Penobsquis; her sisters: Carol Kyle and her husband Bob of Sussex, Helen Shield and her husband Al of Milo, Alberta and Louise McGinnis (Gilles Morissette) of Windsor, Ontario; her step-sisters: Norma Paul and her husband Ian of Sackville and Carol Whittaker and her husband Peter of Harvey Station; her nieces and nephews: Bill and Sharon Kyle, Rick and Kelly Kyle, Susanne and Bob Whitters, Harold and Nancy Secord, Kevin Secord, Paul and Donna Secord, John and Natalie Shield, Jim Shield, Scott and Jane McGinnis and Gregory McGinnis; her great nieces and nephews: Shane (Jill) and Blake Kyle, Jake and Katie Kyle, Nicholas, Joseph and Reese Whitters, Melissa, Robert (Jade) and Andrew Secord, Jesse Secord, Dustin Shield (Stephanie), Emma and Anna McGinnis, Zachery and Jesse McGinnis.
Ms. Jane Ethel Secord of Sussex, passed away at the Saint John Regional on Saturday, February 28th, 2015. She is predeceased by her father Harold C. Secord; her mother Ethel Jean Secord Cowan; her step-father J. Frederick Cowan; her brother-in-law Jack McGinnis and her niece Heather Secord.

A Celebration of Jane's life will be held on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 at 11am from the Sussex Baptist Church, 28 Church Avenue, Sussex, NB. Immediately following the service will be an opportunity to speak with the family in the Church Reception Area.
