George was born in Sussex on January 9th, 1952, he was the son of Mabel Alberta (Goddard) formerly of Lower Millstream now of Waterford and the late Wendell Lorenzo Dalling of Chamber Settlement. George worked with his father in the woods for several years. He had at that time 100 ewes later sold them in 1984 and then pigs.George switched to raising beef cattle as well as working at the PCS Mines. His prize purchase was 10 Purebred Hereford from Alberta. George was a hunter but his greatest love was fishing. In 2014 George and LeRoy bought trout, and this year, just this last month, LeRoy and his kids caught some and took them to the hospital to show George. He was impressed how they had grown. George always was a quiet and patient hunter and it always paid off. George was a mentor to his nephews and nieces when it came to hunting and fishing. George was very smart and self taught. He knew everything and if he didn't, the next time you saw him he'd have the answer. George had a stern loud voice but a kind heart. He and his long time friend Harley Hicks could run like a deer his family had great laughs about that. They called them " Greyhounds." George's niece, Carolyn spent many hours at the hospital with him, memories she will hold onto forever. As well as Carolyn, there were other nieces, nephews, family, friends and Shawn who visited George and he appreciated this. He loved to hear what was going on in the world. George will live on in the hearts of his mother Mabel; his sisters: Mary Ann Dalling of Waterford, Joan Devine and her husband Bernard of Sussex Corner; his brothers: Harold Dalling and his wife Audrey of Waterford and Tom Dalling and his wife Judy of Waterford; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Our hearts are deeply sorrowed by the loss of a son, brother, uncle, cousin and a great friend. George Evans Dalling of Waterford passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on April 28, 2015 at the age of 63. A service celebrating George's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 am.
