To Peter & family. So sorry to hear of Doug's passing, he had a definite positive influence on anyone's life that knew him. I will never forget when he used to come in to Pizza Delight for supper when we owned it, he would stay late so I could sit with him and have coffee and tell stories. Every time I think of Uncle Doug I smile. He made everyone and I mean everyone around him comfortable with his humour and easy going style. Don't personally recall him saying a bad thing about anybody. I remember him coming to all our hockey games, ball games from my youth in that beautiful little town! He'll be missed....RIP uncle Doug,

We are very, very sorry to hear of the passing of one of the nicest men we have ever met. Doug Norrad heard that a young fellow was hitchhiking to hockey games (with his equipment) from Hynes Corner on early Saturday mornings. He then loaded Peter into his car a half hour earlier after that and picked me up so that I would not have to hitchhike any more. This began a lifelong friendship. Unselfish, generous, funny as hell and a wonderful man. He and Peter always seemed to be best friends.
A lifetime of great memories that will never be forgotten. So sorry for your family's loss Peter.

Hi Peter, Tammy, Brett and Marcus,
Sandra and I are away but wanted to send you all our deepest sympathies. Your dad and grand-father lived a long life but no matter how long it is always really tough to say goodbye. As I remember him .. two words come to mind ... quiet strength. There was a deep strength of character that was evident in his life and it was lived out in a rather quiet manner. I'll never forget the many road trips and hockey tourneys where we travelled the Maritimes together. Those were fun days and continue to leave me with piles of great memories. He will be missed. Be assured of our thots and prayers.

Doug told me when I was just a little girl that he was the handsomest man in Town and for the rest of his life I called him the handsomest man in Town. Thinking of Doug & the whole Norrad clan brings a wonderful flood of memories to mind from almost 60 years ago to just a few months ago when Heather Ness & I visited - Heather asked Doug if he remembered me & he said No I've never seen her before & winked at me! I almost peed myself laughing !
